Let’s Get Kids Excited About Eating More Fresh Produce!
Wednesday, June 17 | 3:00-5:00 pm
The Kid Zone is the perfect way to enhance your United Fresh show experience! This destination area will feature kid-friendly produce snacks, ideal for healthy snacking and back-to-school retail displays, c-store fresh snacks, and K-12 school foodservice buyers looking to increase the variety of produce offered in school meal and snack programs.
“Prior to the conference I didn't value pre-packaged products, but after discussions with fellow Food Service Directors and vendors, my perspective changed to understand the way fresh-cut produce can enhance our breakfast in the classroom and after-school meal programs.
Anneliese Tanner, Executive Director, Nutrition and Food Services, Austin Independent School District
The Kid Zone also adds to the experience of the K-12 school nutrition leaders who have been invited to attend the convention, as part of the United Fresh Start Foundation’s annual School Foodservice Forum. This two-day networking and education program enables K-12 school foodservice leaders from the nation’s largest school districts to attend the convention, meet with the produce industry, explore new produce, and connect with school nutrition colleagues to share best practices on sourcing, serving and promoting fresh produce in school meal and snack programs.
