Opening Breakfast General Session

Craig Boyan, President and Chief Operating Officer for H-E-B, shares his insights about the challenges and opportunities facing today's supermarkets. H-E-B, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, is one of the largest independent food retailers in the nation. The company currently operates more than 370 stores in the U.S. and Mexico and has over 86,000 employees.

In addition to his current role as the President and COO, Craig is also a member of the H-E-B Board and a Trustee of the H-E-B Investment Retirement Plan. He joined the company in 2005 as Chief Strategic Officer after serving as an advisor to H-E-B for two years. Craig is a graduate of Harvard College, cum laude in economics, and received an MBA from Columbia Business School. He serves on the Board of the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) and also served as the Chairman of the 2016 FMI Midwinter Executive Conference.

In addition to Craig’s keynote address, attendees will hear remarks from Outgoing Chairman Brian Kocher and The Packer’s 2016 Produce Person of the Year will be announced.

Wednesday's General Session Breakfast is designed to inspire your entire team! Kevin Brown, President and CEO of Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises, Inc.® (LEYE), will be the keynote speaker at the United Fresh 2016 Breakfast General Session. LEYE owns more than 100 restaurants with 51 different concepts ranging from fast casual to fine dining nationwide. Kevin brings more than 35 years of industry experience and leadership to LEYE and in his role, he is first and foremost a restauranteur, directing the ongoing innovation and development of new concepts, while strategically expanding and improving existing restaurants. His ultimate goal is to not only maintain and enhance Lettuce’s reputation and entrepreneurial spirit but to also provide a high level of hospitality and care to both guests in the restaurants and employees. 

Also hear from incoming Chairman of the Board Tony Freytag, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Crunch Pak, as he sets the course for the year ahead for United Fresh.

The morning session will also celebrate the graduation of the United Fresh Produce Industry Leadership Class 21 and hold the live announcement of the newest members of Leadership Class 22.
